“Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46).
Contemplative prayer invites us to become quiet enough to notice God's presence within and among us. Yet contemplation is not simply a solitary practice. This retreat will offer opportunities to experience a variety of contemplative practices, to spend time in silence and prayer, to reflect on the wisdom of the Christian contemplative tradition, and to explore what it means to cultivate contemplative community. This contemplative but not completely silent retreat balances silence, stillness, and community. Participants may seek additional silence at mealtimes. Co-sponsored by Contemplate Lincoln.
